When I lost my job 10 years ago, I decided to get off the corporate treadmill to pursue my dream of becoming a freelance writer.
It was the best decision I ever made.
If you’ve been following me, you know that my business has grown steadily, and today it is a seven-figure business. I’ve worked hard to get where I am, but I had a little bit of luck on my side, too.
You see, I started my business in November, and only two months later, in January, the annual Microsoft Awards Program opened. A lot of Microsoft partners wanted to win an award.
But they didn’t have time to write them – they needed to hire a writer.
So they hired me. I really kick-started my business by writing award submissions.
Since that time, a lot of writers have joined me by learning how to write award submissions.
I’ve trained them, and they have written and been paid for it. They’ve built confidence and writing skills. And they’ve added clients to their portfolio.
This year the awards will open in February and we’ll be writing in March and April.
But before that happens, I will be conducting my first-ever Awards Writing Certification Workshop, on February 10. Space will be limited. We’ll have both in-person and virtual spots available.
Until next time,
Believe. Be Brave. Go Write!
